Emergency Contraception for Women under 25
If you’ve had unprotected sex or your usual contraception hasn’t worked, you may need emergency contraception. Our pharmacists provide private, supportive consultations and can supply funded emergency contraception where you meet the criteria.
Who is this service for?
Women under 25 years of age who are eligible for publicly funded health services in Aotearoa New Zealand.
What will it cost?
There is no consultation copayment for emergency contraception.
Approved emergency contraceptive pills are funded when clinically appropriate.
For best results, visit our pharmacy as soon as possible after unprotected sex. If emergency contraception is not suitable, we will discuss other options and help you access further care.
