Head Lice Treatment

Head Lice are common in tamariki, especially during school terms. Our pharmacists can provide assessment, funded head lice treatment and practical advice for your whānau.

Who is this service for?

Children under 14 years of age with head lice.

Family members of a child under 14 years who also have head lice.

What will it cost?

With a Community Services Card: consultation copayment of $5 (covers the consultation, even if multiple whānau members are treated in that visit).

Without a Community Services Card: consultation copayment of $20.

Approved head lice treatments and treatment aids (for example, a metal headlice comb) may be funded.

You do not all need to be present at the pharmacy – as long as appropriate consent is given, we can provide treatment for each named family member who needs it.
